KOREAN VASE IN WHITE PORCELAIN AND CELADON GLAZE

Sale price€395,00

A delightful little faceted Korean vase in delicate white porcelain with a blue-green celadon glaze. It was made by Han Jeong-Yong, a renowned Korean potter (he has been the subject of numerous exhibitions, including one in Paris in 2015 at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs as part of the "Korea Now" exhibition), who is also a senior lecturer specialising in fine crafts at the Design Department of the Seoul National University College of Art.

Han Jeong-Yong is inspired by the white porcelain of the Joseon dynasty and the imprint of handwork and warmth. The blue-green tones of the vase come from traditional Korean celadon, obtained by adding a small amount of iron oxide to the glaze. This small vase is both very delicate and very powerful with its sharp edges.

A vase that can hold delicate bouquets or minimalist branches, depending on the occasion and the mood. And it can also be used to serve Korean or Japanese alcohol, as was its original function.

An exceptional, one-of-a-kind object.
