Japanese Incense Gift Set, with hand-painted paulownia wood box
A gift box designed and assembled by us especially for the holidays, conveying all the delicacy of Japan. This gift box, whose contents is protected by a cardboard box in Japanese washi paper, will also be wrapped in a magnificent white cotton square fabric brought back from Seoul, dexterously tied using the immutable Korean pojagi technique, with a label, ideal for gift-giving.
This gift box contains
- A hand-painted Japanese box made from light paulownia wood (kiribako, used in Japan to store precious objects in order to protect them) (dimensions: L18cm x W13cm x H4cm). 5 different box models have been created (camellia and snow, red camellia, pink camellia, plum blossom, white chrysanthemum).
- A box of traditional Japanese incense with 145 short sticks (9cm long), each burning for around 15 minutes. This subtle incense, whose main note is sandalwood, without frills, evokes the atmosphere and tranquillity of the temples of Kyōto. It was created by Kyukyodo, a venerable stationery and incense house founded in Kyōto in 1663.
- A small mamezara plate in ceramic and celadon glaze, either round (diameter 7.5cm) or in the shape of a delicate leaf (length 7cm), brought from Kyōto to match the rest of the box, to hold the incense holder and the incense stick.
- A contemporary brass incense holder completes the set.
Just like in the pochettes of our childhood, there will be a surprise when you receive the box to discover which wooden box and plate are included.

To light a stick, place a flame near the end and wait for the incense to ignite, then blow gently to extinguish the flame. Be sure to position the stick upright on the incense holder so that the ashes fall into the plate. Extinguish the incense if you have to leave. Keep out of reach of children.
