Korean Bamboo Incense Holder
This incense holder, named IOOOOH combines the purity of a finely hollowed bamboo shell with a small broom made of plant fibers, whose regular bindings evoke a traditional Korean gesture. The set (incense holder, ash brush, and case containing Korean incense sticks) emphasizes simplicity, modularity, and the pleasure of the gesture (the brush is used to clean the ashes, and the incense holder and brush can then be hung up), accompanying the incense ritual in a delicate and contemporary atmosphere.
The craftsman
Blend is a Korean studio that reinterprets everyday skills through simple objects crafted with skilled artisans. The miniature broom accompanying this piece uses techniques employed in Korea for reed brooms, where the fibers are selected, prepared, and then bound together with a system of tight ties that ensures flexibility and precision. The choice of bamboo reflects this same commitment to natural and sustainable craftsmanship, as the material is valued for its lightness, strength, and the softness of its texture when carefully crafted.
The technique and the decor
The incense holder is crafted from a hollowed-out section of bamboo, its graceful curve collecting the ashes and emphasizing the clean lines of the form. Two discreet perforations punctuate the upper end: one to hold an incense stick when the holder is used flat, and the other to suspend the incense brush from the bamboo hollow when hung by the fabric loop. The brush, made of carefully bound plant fibers, offers a textural contrast to the smooth bamboo and reinforces the sense of craftsmanship. The holder is presented in an elegant cardboard box and accompanied by a pouch containing five Korean incense sticks whose fragrance evokes the country's forests.

Total weight: 135g
Materials: bamboo, plant fibers, paper, cork, cardboard.

Care instructions: Gently empty the ashes after use, then clean the surface with a broom or a dry cloth, avoiding any source of moisture. Always keep the broom away from the incense holder when using it with an incense stick. Incense that is burning should always be placed on a stand and supervised; do not leave children unattended near it. To light a stick, bring a flame close to the end and wait for the incense to ignite, then gently blow out the flame. Ensure the stick is positioned upright on the incense holder so that the ashes fall into the dish. Extinguish the incense if you need to leave. Keep out of reach of children. The incense holder will retain heat after use; allow it to cool before handling.
