KOREAN POJAGI PACKAGING ART WORKSHOP WITH RYU JIN LEE - SATURDAY, JANUARY 24, 2026

Sale price€90,00
Date and time slot:

SATURDAY, JANUARY 24, 2026, 2 SESSIONS: 11am - 1pm or 2:30pm - 4:30pm

A pojagi (or bojagi) is a square piece of fabric used for wrapping, covering, storing, or transporting objects. It is emblematic of Korean culture, which has elevated it to a unique and sublime art form, exuding elegance in its choice of textiles, colors, and the fabulous variety of folding techniques. The art of pojagi allows for the wrapping and embellishment of objects of different sizes and shapes; the fabric itself becomes a gift, conveying the desire to bring good fortune to the recipient.

For this exceptional workshop, we will welcome Jiny Ryu, who will come from Seoul to share with us this art, little known in France. Jiny specializes in the art of Pojagi, and one of his many activities related to this art is organizing private workshops in Seoul for major luxury brands who wish to refine the art of gift-giving.

During this workshop, we will discuss the culture and traditions associated with pojagi, and Jiny will demonstrate and explain step-by-step how to wrap objects of various sizes in a fun and practical introductory session. This will allow you to begin practicing and also to recreate these wraps at home. Beautiful pojagi textiles, which Jiny has selected for you in Korea, will be provided.

Only two Level 1 sessions are available for booking, on Saturday, January 24, 2026, to take advantage of Jiny's visit to Paris, so don't delay if you're interested. Each session of this small-group workshop (only 5 participants, plus Jiny and Laurence, the founder of Atelier Ikiwa) will also be an opportunity to share a friendly moment over tea and treats. It will take place in a private Parisian apartment in the 7th arrondissement.

Price of this workshop: €90, including the presentation of the Korean culture of Pojagi, the introduction to the art of packaging around some techniques, pojagi fabrics to reuse, a welcome for about 2 hours, tea tasting and sweets.
